  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  515.80A  RESTRICTIONS ON
  1  2 CANCELLATION OR NONRENEWAL INVOLVING ACTS OF GOD.
  1  3    An insurer shall not cancel or fail to renew a policy or
  1  4 contract of property and casualty insurance because an insured
  1  5 has made a claim or claims under the insurance policy or
  1  6 contract for damages that resulted from storm or other act of
  1  7 God.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION 
  1  9    This bill prohibits an insurer from canceling or failing to
  1 10 renew a policy or contract of property and casualty insurance
  1 11 because an insured has made a claim or claims under the
  1 12 insurance policy or contract for damages that resulted from
  1 13 storm or other act of God.
