  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-8418, to Senate File 2298,
  1  2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 28 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 64, line 32, by inserting after the
  1  7 word "grants." the following:  "From the funds
  1  8 appropriated in this subsection, not more than three
  1  9 million four hundred thousand dollars may be
  1 10 distributed to private institutions whose income is
  1 11 not exempt from taxation under section 501(c) of the
  1 12 Internal Revenue Code and whose students were eligible
  1 13 to receive Iowa tuition grant moneys in the fiscal
  1 14 year beginning July 1, 2003."
  1 15    #2.  Page 5, by striking lines 11 through 14 and
  1 16 inserting the following:
  1 17    "#   .  Page 186, by striking lines 3 and 4 and
  1 18 inserting the following:  "subdivision of the state,
  1 19 except for county hospitals as provided in paragraph
  1 20 "c" of this subsection, and which".
  1 21    #   .  Page 186, by striking lines 7 and 8 and
  1 22 inserting the following:  ""g", except that
  1 23 institutions defined in paragraph "c" of this
  1 24 subsection are exempt from the requirements of
  1 25 paragraphs "a" and "b":""
  1 26    #3.  Page 5, by inserting after line 25 the
  1 27 following:
  1 28    "#   .  Page 186, line 27, by inserting after the
  1 29 word "chapter." the following:  "An institution whose
  1 30 income is not exempt from taxation under section
  1 31 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code and whose students
  1 32 were eligible to receive Iowa tuition grant money in
  1 33 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003, shall meet the
  1 34 match requirements of this paragraph no later than
  1 35 June 30, 2005."
  1 36    #4.  Page 6, by inserting after line 36 the
  1 37 following:
  1 38    "#   .  By striking page 204, line 35 through page
  1 39 205, line 21."
  1 40    #5.  By renumbering as necessary.
