  1  1    Amend Senate File 2298, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 7, by inserting after line 11, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES DIVISION – STATE
  1  6 LIQUOR WAREHOUSE FUNCTIONS.  Notwithstanding sections
  1  7 7J.1 and 123.20, subsection 4, and any other
  1  8 applicable provision of law, the alcoholic beverages
  1  9 division of the department of commerce shall not add
  1 10 full-time equivalent positions for purposes of the
  1 11 state assuming the state liquor warehouse functions
  1 12 performed by a private contractor as of April 1, 2004.
  1 13 The division shall issue a request for proposals or
  1 14 otherwise utilize a competitive process to select a
  1 15 successor private contractor to perform the state
  1 16 liquor warehouse functions."
  1 17    #2.  Page 20, by inserting after line 34 the
  1 18 following:
  1 19    "Sec.    .  EFFECTIVE DATE.  The section of this
  1 20 division of this Act relating to the state liquor
  1 21 warehouse functions, being deemed of immediate
  1 22 importance, takes effect upon enactment."
  1 23    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
