  1  1    Amend House File 2434, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 13, line 31, by striking the words
  1  4 "paragraph b".
  1  5    #2.  Page 13, by inserting after line 32 the
  1  6 following:
  1  7    "1.  a.  Notwithstanding section 34A.6, the
  1  8 administrator shall adopt by rule a monthly surcharge
  1  9 of up to fifty sixty-five cents to be imposed on each
  1 10 wireless communications service number provided in
  1 11 this state.  The surcharge shall be imposed uniformly
  1 12 on a statewide basis and simultaneously on all
  1 13 wireless communications service numbers as provided by
  1 14 rule of the administrator."
  1 15    #3.  Page 14, line 1, by striking the word "fifty"
  1 16 and inserting the following:  "fifty sixty-five".
  1 17    #4.  Page 14, by striking lines 4 and 5.
  1 18    #5.  Page 15, by inserting after line 14 the
  1 19 following:
  1 20    "b.  The program manager shall allocate twenty-one
  1 21 percent of the total amount of surcharge generated to
  1 22 wireless carriers to recover their costs to deliver
  1 23 E911 phase 1 services.  If the total amount of moneys
  1 24 remaining in the fund is insufficient to reimburse all
  1 25 wireless carriers for such carrier's eligible
  1 26 expenses, the program manager shall allocate a
  1 27 prorated amount to each wireless carrier equal to the
  1 28 percentage of such carrier's eligible expenses as
  1 29 compared to the total of all eligible expenses for all
  1 30 wireless carriers for the calendar quarter during
  1 31 which such expenses were submitted.  When prorated
  1 32 expenses are paid, the remaining unpaid expenses shall
  1 33 no longer be eligible for payment under this
  1 34 paragraph."

  1 50 board."
