1 1 Amend Senate File 2269, as passed by the Senate, as
1 2 follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting before line 1, the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . Section 39A.3, subsection 1, Code 2003,
1 6 is amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 7 NEW PARAGRAPH. c. INTERFERENCE WITH VOTING.
1 8 (1) Interrupts, hinders, or opposes a voter while
1 9 in or approaching the polling place for the purpose of
1 10 voting.
1 11 (2) An election official who, on election day,
1 12 fails to perform duties prescribed by chapters 43 and
1 13 49 and such failure prevents a person lawfully
1 14 entitled to vote from voting.
1 15 If the county attorney receives four or more
1 16 complaints alleging a violation of this paragraph "c"
1 17 and such complaints allege a violation at the same
1 18 polling place, the county attorney shall investigate
1 19 the complaints.
1 20 Sec. . Section 39A.4, subsection 1, paragraph
1 21 a, subparagraph (2), is amended by striking the
1 22 subparagraph."
