1 1 Amend Senate File 440, as passed by the Senate, as
1 2 follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 20 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . Section 285.3, Code 2003, is amended by
1 6 adding the following new subsection:
1 7 NEW SUBSECTION. 3. Notwithstanding any provision
1 8 to the contrary, for the school budget year beginning
1 9 July 1, 2003, and succeeding budget years, parental or
1 10 legal guardian reimbursement as calculated pursuant to
1 11 subsection 1 and section 285.1, subsection 3, shall be
1 12 subject to a percentage reduction if annual parental
1 13 or legal guardian taxable income exceeds the following
1 14 designated amounts:
1 15 a. For income levels at or less than fifty
1 16 thousand dollars of taxable income per year,
1 17 reimbursement at one hundred percent of the amount
1 18 calculated.
1 19 b. For income levels greater than fifty thousand
1 20 dollars of taxable income per year, but less than
1 21 seventy-five thousand dollars of taxable income per
1 22 year, reimbursement at fifty percent of the amount
1 23 calculated.
1 24 c. For income levels at or greater than seventy-
1 25 five thousand dollars of taxable income per year, but
1 26 less than one hundred thousand dollars of taxable
1 27 income per year, reimbursement at twenty-five percent
1 28 of the amount calculated.
1 29 d. For income levels at or greater than one
1 30 hundred thousand dollars of taxable income per year,
1 31 no reimbursement."
1 32 #2. Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
1 33 word "circumstances" the following: ", and a
1 34 percentage reduction in specified state aid for
1 35 nonpublic school parental reimbursement under
1 36 specified circumstances".
1 37 #3. By renumbering as necessary.
