The state registrar shall charge the parenta1 5ten dollar feeone of the following fees for the 1 6 registration of a certificate of birthand aas 1 7 elected by the parent: 1 8 a. A registration fee of ten dollars. 1 9 b. A registration fee of ten dollars and an 1 10 additional monitoring fee of ten dollars. 1 11 1A. If the parent elects to pay the additional 1 12 monitoring fee of ten dollars pursuant to subsection 1 13 1, paragraph "b", the birth defects institute central 1 14 registry established pursuant to section 136A.6 shall 1 15 provide birth defects monitoring of the child until 1 16 the child reaches one year of age." 1 17 #2.
