1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 11 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . NEW SECTION. 80B.18 LAW ENFORCEMENT
1 5 OFFICER – TRIBAL GOVERNMENT.
1 6 A law enforcement officer who is a member of a
1 7 police force of a tribal government and who becomes
1 8 certified through the Iowa law enforcement academy
1 9 shall be subject to the certification and revocation
1 10 of certification rules and procedures as provided in
1 11 this chapter. The certified law enforcement officer
1 12 shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of
1 13 this state if an agreement exists between the tribal
1 14 government and the state or between the tribal
1 15 government and a county, which grants authority to the
1 16 law enforcement officer to act in a law enforcement
1 17 capacity off a settlement or reservation."
