1 1 Section 1. Section 235A.15, subsection 2, paragraph c,
1 2 Code Supplement 2001, is amended by adding the following new
1 3 subparagraph:
1 4 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH. (11) To an administrator of a hospital
1 5 licensed under chapter 135B if the data concerns a person
1 6 employed or being considered for employment by the hospital.
1 7 Sec. 2. Section 235B.6, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code
1 8 Supplement 2001, is amended by adding the following new
1 9 subparagraph:
1 10 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH. (7) To an administrator of a hospital
1 11 licensed under chapter 135B if the data concerns a person
1 12 employed or being considered for employment by the hospital.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill allows hospitals licensed under Code chapter 135B
1 15 to have access to abuse registries for purposes of checking
1 16 persons employed or being considered for employment. The
1 17 authorization is provided in Code section 235A.15, relating to
1 18 access to the child abuse registry, and Code section 235B.6,
1 19 relating to the dependent adult abuse registry.
