1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 331.604A TECHNOLOGY FEE.
1 2 The recorder shall collect a technology fee of five dollars
1 3 for each recorded transaction for which a fee is paid pursuant
1 4 to section 331.604. The treasurer, on behalf of the recorder,
1 5 shall establish and maintain an interest-bearing account into
1 6 which all moneys collected pursuant to this section shall be
1 7 deposited. The recorder shall use the moneys deposited in the
1 8 account to implement a system of electronic recording of
1 9 documents in the county.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill establishes a technology fee of $5 to be
1 12 collected by the county recorder on each transaction recorded
1 13 with the recorder. A fund is established for deposit of the
1 14 fees collected. The bill provides that the moneys collected
1 15 are to be used to implement a system of electronic recording
1 16 in the county.
