1 1 Section 1. CHILD SUPPORT RECOVERY UNIT – RELOCATION. It
1 2 is the intent of the general assembly that the child support
1 3 recovery unit be relocated within the department of revenue
1 4 and finance beginning July 1, 2002. The department of human
1 5 services and the department of revenue and finance shall
1 6 develop a plan for the relocation and shall submit the plan to
1 7 the general assembly and the governor no later than September
1 8 1, 2001. The plan shall include but is not limited to all of
1 9 the following:
1 10 1. A description of the restructuring of the department of
1 11 revenue and finance necessary to assume the duties of the
1 12 child support recovery unit.
1 13 2. A budget request, including the number of full-time
1 14 equivalent positions to be relocated, to cover the expenses of
1 15 the relocated child support recovery unit.
1 16 3. A listing of any changes in state law and rules, and
1 17 any federal limitations or requirements applicable to and any
1 18 federal approval necessary to allow for the relocation of the
1 19 child support recovery unit.
1 20 EXPLANATION
1 21 This bill directs the department of human services and the
1 22 department of revenue and finance to develop a plan for the
1 23 relocation of the child support recovery unit within the
1 24 department of revenue and finance. The bill specifies that it
1 25 is the intent of the general assembly that the relocation take
1 26 place by July 1, 2002. The departments are to submit the plan
1 27 to the general assembly and to the governor by September 1,
1 28 2001. The plan is to include a description of the
1 29 restructuring of the department of revenue and finance
1 30 necessary to assume the duties of the child support recovery
1 31 unit, a budget request to cover the expenses of the
1 32 relocation, and a listing of any changes in state law and
1 33 rules, any federal limitations or requirements applicable to
1 34 the relocation, and any federal approval necessary to the
1 35 relocation.
