  1  1    Section 1.  Section 96.7, subsection 12, paragraph d, Code
  1  2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  This subsection is repealed July 1, 2001 2004, and the
  1  4 repeal is applicable to contribution rates for calendar year
  1  5 2002 2005 and subsequent calendar years.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1  7 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill amends Code section 96.7, subsection 12,
  1 10 paragraph "d", by providing that the repeal of the employment
  1 11 security administrative contribution surcharge and its fund
  1 12 takes effect on July 1, 2004, instead of July 1, 2001.  This
  1 13 Code section change is made effective upon the bill's
  1 14 enactment in order to take effect before the scheduled repeal
  1 15 of Code section 96.7, subsection 12, on July 1, 2001.
