Senate Study Bill 1101

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 49.77, subsection 3, unnumbered
  1  2 paragraph 2, Code 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    A precinct election official may shall require of the voter
  1  4 unknown to the official, identification upon which the voter's
  1  5 photograph and signature or mark appears.  If identification
  1  6 is established to the satisfaction of the precinct election
  1  7 officials, the person may then be allowed to vote.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill amends the Code to require that voters present
  1 10 photographic identification to precinct election officials
  1 11 prior to voting.
