1 1 Section 1. The board of pharmacy examiners shall adopt
1 2 rules for hospital pharmaceutical services relating to
1 3 medication orders that are consistent with and no more
1 4 restrictive than federal law and regulation. The rules shall
1 5 not specify a time period within which a prescribing
1 6 practitioner's signature must be provided, unless federal law
1 7 and regulation otherwise require.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill directs the board of pharmacy examiners and the
1 10 department of inspections and appeals to adopt rules for
1 11 hospital pharmaceutical services relating to medication orders
1 12 that are consistent with and no more restrictive than federal
1 13 law and regulation. The rules are not to specify a time
1 14 period within which a prescribing practitioner must sign a
1 15 medication order, unless the federal rules and regulations
1 16 otherwise require.
