1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator JoAnn Johnson.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator JoAnn Johnson has retired from
1 5 legislative office after completing nearly eight years
1 6 in office as a State Senator; and
1 7 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson's distinguished career as
1 8 a state legislator has included service as Chairperson
1 9 of the Commerce Committee and of the Ways and Means
1 10 Committee; as Vice Chairperson of the Health and Human
1 11 Rights Appropriations Subcommittee; and as a member of
1 12 the Administrative Rules Review Committee; and
1 13 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson has served on many other
1 14 standing committees and appropriation subcommittees
1 15 throughout her years of legislative service and has
1 16 been an influential and devoted legislator in this
1 17 state; and
1 18 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson has been instrumental in
1 19 the passage of legislation relating to agriculture,
1 20 commerce, and ways and means issues; and
1 21 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson has served honorably and
1 22 has unselfishly given of her time and efforts to
1 23 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 24 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 25 NOW THEREFORE,
1 26 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 27 tribute to Senator JoAnn Johnson for her devoted
1 28 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
1 29 of this state and wish her the very best in the years
1 30 ahead; and
2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 2 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 3 Johnson.
