  1  4 PROVIDING FOR HOSPITAL ACCESS TO ABUSE REGISTRIES FOR
  1  5    PURPOSES OF EMPLOYMENT CHECKS.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  135B.34  SINGLE CONTACT
  1 10 REPOSITORY – RECORD CHECKS.
  1 11    A hospital licensed in this state may access the single
  1 12 contact repository established by the department pursuant to
  1 13 section 135C.33 as necessary for the hospital to perform
  1 14 record checks of persons employed or being considered for
  1 15 employment by the hospital.
  1 16    Sec. 2.  Section 235A.15, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code
  1 17 Supplement 2001, is amended by adding the following new
  1 18 subparagraph:
  1 19    NEW SUBPARAGRAPH.  (11)  To an administrator of a hospital
  1 20 licensed under chapter 135B if the data concerns a person
  1 21 employed or being considered for employment by the hospital.
  1 22    Sec. 3.  Section 235B.6, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code
  1 23 Supplement 2001, is amended by adding the following new
  1 24 subparagraph:
  1 25    NEW SUBPARAGRAPH.  (7)  To an administrator of a hospital
  1 26 licensed under chapter 135B if the data concerns a person
  1 27 employed or being considered for employment by the hospital.
