1 1 Section 1. Section 422E.2, subsection 2, Code Supplement
1 2 2001, is amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. c. An election on the question of
1 4 imposition of a local sales and services tax for school
1 5 infrastructure purposes shall not be held sooner than one year
1 6 following the last election at which the question of
1 7 imposition was defeated.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill provides that if an election on the imposition of
1 10 a local sales and services tax for school infrastructure is
1 11 defeated, then another election cannot be held sooner than one
1 12 year later.
