PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. SUPPLEMENTARY WEIGHTING FOR WHOLE GRADE SHARING 1 2 AMENDED CERTIFIED ENROLLMENT. 1 3 1. A school district shall be eligible to amend its 1 4 certified enrollment and qualify to receive supplementary 1 5 weighting for whole grade sharing arrangements pursuant to 1 6 section 257.11, subsection 2, paragraph "c", provided that the 1 7 school district was participating in a whole grade sharing 1 8 arrangement during the budget year beginning July 1, 2001, and 1 9 provided that, prior to January 1, 2002, the school district 1 10 adopted a resolution with other affected school district 1 11 boards which remains in place to study the question of 1 12 undergoing a reorganization or dissolution. 1 13 2. A school district meeting the requirements of 1 14 subsection 1 which seeks to amend its certified enrollment 1 15 shall submit an application to the department of education 1 16 within thirty days following the effective date of this Act. 1 17 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of 1 18 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment. 1 19 EXPLANATION 1 20 This bill provides that a school district may amend its 1 21 certified enrollment and qualify for supplementary weighting 1 22 for whole grade sharing arrangements pursuant to Code section 1 23 257.11, subsection 2, paragraph "c", provided that two 1 24 requirements are met. The bill provides that the school 1 25 district must be participating in a whole grade sharing 1 26 arrangement during the budget year beginning July 1, 2001, and 1 27 that prior to January 1, 2002, the school district had adopted 1 28 a resolution with other affected school district boards which 1 29 remains in place to study the question of undergoing a 1 30 reorganization or dissolution. The bill provides that a 1 31 school district meeting these two requirements and seeking to 1 32 amend its certified enrollment pursuant to this Code section 1 33 shall submit an application to the department of education 1 34 within 30 days following the effective date of the bill. 1 35 The bill takes effect upon enactment. 2 1 LSB 5735XS 79 2 2 rn/pj/5
