1 1 Section 1. Section 176A.9, subsection 4, Code 2001, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 4. The extension council may collect reasonable fees and
1 4 may seek and receive grants, donations, gifts, bequests, or
1 5 other moneys from public and private sources to be used for
1 6 the purposes set forth in this section, and may enter into
1 7 contracts to provide educational services. However, services
1 8 provided by the extension council to the 4-H organization and
1 9 its clubs in accordance with this chapter shall be provided
1 10 free of charge.
1 11 Sec. 2. NEW SECTION. 266.34A EXTENSION SERVICES TO 4-H.
1 12 Notwithstanding section 262.47, extension services provided
1 13 by the Iowa cooperative extension service in agriculture and
1 14 home economics of Iowa state university to the 4-H
1 15 organization and its clubs shall be provided free of charge.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill requires that extension services provided by Iowa
1 18 state university's Iowa cooperative extension service in
1 19 agriculture and home economics, or by the county agricultural
1 20 extension council, to the 4-H organization and its clubs must
1 21 be provided free of charge.
