1 1 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. There is
1 2 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 3 department of economic development for the fiscal year
1 4 beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, the
1 5 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 6 used for the purposes designated:
1 7 For allocating to the world food prize foundation or other
1 8 organizations and individuals to promote the prize as awarded
1 9 in Iowa, to attract interested parties to take part in the
1 10 world food prize activities, and to offset expenses associated
1 11 with Iowa students taking part in the world food prize youth
1 12 institute and international internship program:

1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill appropriates $300,000 from the general fund of
1 16 the state to the department of economic development for the
1 17 2002-2003 fiscal year. The bill provides that the moneys are
1 18 to be allocated to the world food prize foundation or other
1 19 organizations and individuals to promote the prize as awarded
1 20 in Iowa, to attract interested parties to take part in the
1 21 world food prize activities, and to offset expenses associated
1 22 with Iowa students taking part in the world food prize youth
1 23 institute and international internship program.
