  1  4 RELATING TO THE NUMBER OF DAYS OF PAYMENT FOR EXPENSES OF
  1  5    OFFICE FOR MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE 2002
  1  6    REGULAR SESSION OF THE SEVENTY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND
  1  7    INCLUDING EFFECTIVE DATE AND RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY
  1  8    PROVISIONS.

  1 10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1 11 
  1 12    Section 1.  LEGISLATORS' PER DIEM FOR THE 2002 REGULAR
  1 13 SESSION.  Notwithstanding section 2.10, subsection 1 to the
  1 14 contrary, members of the Seventy-ninth General Assembly shall
  1 15 be limited to the receipt of per diem for expenses of office
  1 16 for the Second Regular Session convening in 2002 for a maximum
  1 17 of ninety calendar days rather than one hundred calendar days.
  1 18    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE AND APPLICABILITY PROVISIONS.  This
  1 19 Act, being deemed of immediate importance, takes effect upon
  1 20 enactment and is retroactively applicable to the ninetieth
  1 21 calendar day of the Second Regular Session of the Seventy-
  1 22 ninth General Assembly convening in 2002.
