  1  4 MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT
  1  5    OF TRANSPORTATION FROM THE PRIMARY ROAD FUND FOR THE PURCHASE
  1  6    OF SALT AND INCLUDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  9 
  1 10    Section 1.  STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION –
  1 11 SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION.  There is appropriated from the
  1 12 primary road fund to the state department of transportation
  1 13 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June
  1 14 30, 2001, to supplement the appropriations made in 2000 Iowa
  1 15 Acts, chapter 1216, section 3, the following amount, or so
  1 16 much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purpose
  1 17 designated:
  1 18    To purchase up to 76,000 tons of salt to restock the
  1 19 department's year-end salt inventory, under the current
  1 20 contract prices:  
  1 21 .................................................. $  2,280,000
  1 22    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 23 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
