PAG LIN 1 1 SENATE FILE 412 1 2 1 3 1 4 AN ACT 1 5 RELATING TO THE COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE AGE AND ATTENDANCE AT 1 6 SCHOOL DURING THE REGULAR SCHOOL CALENDAR BY A CHILD WHO HAS 1 7 REACHED THE AGE OF SIXTEEN. 1 8 1 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 1 10 1 11 Section 1. Section 299.1A, Code 2001, is amended to read 1 12 as follows: 1 13 299.1A COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE AGE. 1 14 A child who has reached the age of six and is under sixteen 1 15 years of age by September 15 is of compulsory attendance age. 1 16 However, if a child enrolled in a school district or 1 17 accredited nonpublic school reaches the age of sixteen on or 1 18 after September 15, the child remains of compulsory age until 1 19 the end of the regular school calendar. 1 20 1 21 1 22 1 23 MARY E.
