  1  4 RELATING TO PAY PLANS FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE CREDIT 
  1  5    UNION DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 533.55, subsection 2, Code 2001, is
  1 10 amended to read as follows:
  1 11    2.  The superintendent may employ special appoint
  1 12 assistants, examiners, and other employees as the
  1 13 superintendent deems necessary to carry out this chapter the
  1 14 proper discharge of duties imposed upon the superintendent by
  1 15 the laws of this state.  The superintendent, subject to
  1 16 approval by the board, shall establish salaries for the
  1 17 persons employed.  Pay plans shall be established for
  1 18 employees, other than clerical employees, who examine the
  1 19 accounts and affairs of credit unions and who examine the
  1 20 accounts and affairs of other persons, subject to supervision
  1 21 and regulation by the superintendent, that are substantially
  1 22 equivalent to those paid by the national credit union
  1 23 administration and other federal supervisory agencies in this
  1 24 area of the United States.
