Upon receipt of the petition, the board may either 2 10 rescind its action or direct the county commissioner of 2 11 elections to submit the question to the registered voters of 2 12 the school district at the next following regular school 2 13 election or a special election. If a majority of those voting 2 14 on the question at the election favors disapproval of the 2 15 action of the board, the district shall not participate in the 2 16 instructional support program. The bill provides that the 2 17 decision of the board to participate shall not be contingent 2 18 upon a subsequent receipt of a petition and an election. 2 19 LSB 2925SS 79 2 20 rn/cls/14
