  1  1    Section 1.  Section 96.7, subsection 12, paragraph d, Code
  1  2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  This subsection is repealed July 1, 2001 2004, and the
  1  4 repeal is applicable to contribution rates for calendar year
  1  5 2002 2005 and subsequent calendar years.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act takes effect June 30,
  1  7 2001.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill amends Code section 96.7(12)(d) by providing that
  1 10 the repeal of the employment security administrative
  1 11 contribution surcharge and its fund takes effect on July 1,
  1 12 2004, instead of July 1, 2001.  This Act is effective June 30,
  1 13 2001, in order to take effect before the scheduled repeal of
  1 14 Code section 96.7(12)(d) on July 1, 2001.
