  1  1    Amend the amendment, S-5487, to House File 2622, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 29 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 10, by inserting before line 17 the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "Sec.    .  Section 422.5, subsection 1, Code 2001,
  1  9 is amended by adding the following new paragraph:
  1 10    NEW PARAGRAPH.  l.  Notwithstanding the rate
  1 11 schedule specified in paragraphs "a" through "i" of
  1 12 this subsection, for the tax year beginning on or
  1 13 after January 1, 2002, but before January 1, 2003, the
  1 14 tax rates for those taxpayers whose taxable income is
  1 15 less than thirty thousand dollars shall be one-half of
  1 16 the tax rates specified in the tax rate schedule in
  1 17 paragraphs "a" through "i" of this subsection.""
