PAG LIN 1 1 Amend the amendment, S-5437, to Senate File 2293, 1 2 as follows: 1 3 #1. Page 39, by striking lines 2 through 26 and 1 4 inserting the following: 1 5 "2.AExcept as otherwise provided in this 1 6 subsection, a person shall notdispose ofapply manure 1 7 oncroplandland located within two hundred feet from 1 8 a designated area, unless one of the following1 9applies:1 101. The manure is applied by injection or1 11incorporation within twenty-four hours following the1 12application. 1 132. An area of permanent vegetation cover exists1 14for fifty feet surrounding the designated area and1 15that area is not subject to manure application.1 16 a. The department may require a decreased 1 17 separation distance for the application of manure on 1 18 land where a water quality improvement practice has 1 19 been installed, including filter strips and riparian 1 20 forest buffers. The allowance of a decreased 1 21 separation distance shall to every extent consistent 1 22 with sound water quality practices be modeled on 1 23 conservation practices required to be designed, 1 24 constructed, and maintained according to technical 1 25 standards for this state published by the United 1 26 States department of agriculture, natural resources 1 27 conservation service. 1 28 b. The department may require an increased 1 29 separation distance for the application of manure 1 30 located in proximity to a high-quality water resource 1 31 in order to protect the integrity of the high-quality 1 32 water resource. However, the department shall not 1 33 provide for an increased separation distance 1 34 requirement that is more than four times the 1 35 separation distance requirement otherwise applicable 1 36 under this section." 1 37 #2.
