For school improvement technology block 1 11 grants, notwithstanding section 12E.12, subsection 1, 1 12 paragraph "b", subparagraph (1), and notwithstanding 1 13 section 256D.5, subsection 2, Code 2001: 1 14 FY2002-2003....................................... $ 2,700,600 1 15 FY2003-2004....................................... $ 0 1 16 FY2004-2005....................................... $ 0 1 17 FY2005-2006....................................... $ 0 1 18 The moneys appropriated in this lettered paragraph 1 19 shall be distributed on a per pupil basis to school 1 20 districts, notwithstanding section 256D.6, Code 1 21 Supplement 2001, to be used for the purchase of 1 22 technology, subject to the restrictions of section 1 23 256D.8, subsection 1, Code Supplement 2001. The 1 24 moneys appropriated in this lettered paragraph shall 1 25 be allocated to school districts in the proportion 1 26 that the basic enrollment of a school district and the 1 27 participating accredited nonpublic schools located 1 28 within the school district for the budget year bears 1 29 to the sum of the basic enrollments of all school 1 30 districts and participating accredited nonpublic 1 31 schools in the state for the budget year. For purposes 1 32 of this lettered paragraph, "school district" means a 1 33 school district, the Iowa braille and sight saving 1 34 school, the state school for the deaf, the Price 1 35 laboratory school at the university of northern Iowa, 1 36 and the institutions under the control of the 1 37 department of human services as provided in section 1 38 218.1, subsections 1 through 3, 5, 7, and 8. 1 39 The moneys appropriated in this lettered paragraph 1 40 shall be allocated to school districts for the 1 41 purchase of technology for accredited nonpublic 1 42 schools as provided in 2001 Iowa Acts, chapter 189, 1 43 section 14. 1 44 A participating accredited nonpublic school, the 1 45 Iowa braille and sight saving school, the state school 1 46 for the deaf, the Price laboratory school at the 1 47 university of northern Iowa, and the department of 1 48 human services on behalf of the institutions under the 1 49 department's control as provided in section 218.1, 1 50 subsections 1 through 3, 5, 7, and 8, shall certify 2 1 their basic enrollments or average student yearly 2 2 enrollment, as applicable, to the department of 2 3 education by October 1, 2002."" 2 4 #2.
