1 8 "Sec. . WORKERS' COMPENSATION APPORTIONMENT
1 9 INTERIM STUDY. The legislative council is requested
1 10 to authorize an interim study committee to study
1 11 issues concerning compensation that should be payable
1 12 to an employee for a permanent partial disability when
1 13 the employee has previously suffered an injury or
1 14 previously received workers' compensation benefits.
1 15 In addition, the interim study committee shall examine
1 16 whether racial discrimination impacts the payment of
1 17 workers' compensation benefits. The interim study
1 18 committee shall receive testimony from organizations
1 19 representing employees, employers, and workers'
1 20 compensation insurers concerning the impact of
1 21 modifying current law concerning the apportionment of
1 22 workers' compensation benefits. The interim study
1 23 committee shall submit a report of its findings and
1 24 recommendations, including proposed legislation, if
1 25 any, to the general assembly on or before January 13,
1 26 2003.""
