Page 3, by inserting after line 2 the 1 5 following: 1 6 "# . Page 5, by inserting after line 5 the 1 7 following: 1 8 "Sec. . Section 507E.3, subsection 2, 1 9 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2001, is amended to read 1 10 as follows: 1 11 A person commits a class "D" felony if the person, 1 12 with the intent to defraudan insurer, does any of the 1 13 following: 1 14 Sec. ___. Section 507E.3, subsection 2, Code 2001, 1 15 is amended by adding the following new paragraphs: 1 16 NEW PARAGRAPH. d. Makes a false statement or 1 17 representation as to a material fact in the course of 1 18 reporting, investigating, or adjusting a claim for any 1 19 payment or any other benefit pursuant to an insurance 1 20 policy. 1 21 NEW PARAGRAPH. e. Makes a false statement or 1 22 representation as to a material fact for the purpose 1 23 of obtaining, maintaining, or renewing insurance that 1 24 is required by law, whether for the person or for 1 25 another person, or for the purpose of evading the 1 26 requirements of the law."" 1 27 #2.
