1 1 Amend Senate Resolution 52 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 2, by inserting after line 10 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "WHEREAS, child labor protections, labor rights
1 5 considerations, and environmental protection
1 6 considerations are issues of great significance which
1 7 should be addressed in any trade agreement entered
1 8 into by the United States; and".
1 9 #2. Page 2, by inserting after line 19 the
1 10 following:
1 11 "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That, in working to
1 12 implement a renewal of the trade promotion authority
1 13 of the President of the United States, the Iowa
1 14 congressional delegation is urged to support the
1 15 inclusion of a requirement upon the President of the
1 16 United States to make child labor protections, labor
1 17 rights considerations, and environmental protections
1 18 considerations a part of any trade agreement
1 19 negotiation conducted under the trade promotion
1 20 authority; and".
