1 1 Amend Senate File 62 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 17 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . BEE IN GOOD HEALTH STUDY COMMITTEE.
1 5 1. There is established a bee in good health study
1 6 committee. The committee is composed of one member
1 7 of the senate appointed by the president of the
1 8 senate, after consultation with the majority leader
1 9 and the minority leader of the senate. The member
1 10 shall be a person who has demonstrated knowledge
1 11 regarding bees, including value-added products
1 12 produced from pollen.
1 13 2. The committee shall cooperate with any official
1 14 county health officer and the Iowa department of
1 15 public health to enter upon premises where bees
1 16 congregate in order to conduct complete personal
1 17 physical examinations of bees actively participating
1 18 in the study.
1 19 3. The committee shall report the findings of its
1 20 study to the senate by January 10, 2003. The
1 21 committee's report shall be made after a majority of
1 22 members present at a meeting approve the report. The
1 23 report shall include any practices that contribute to
1 24 good health among the active participants. The
1 25 committee shall designate a member to present the
1 26 report to standing committees of the senate. Active
1 27 participants in the study shall accompany the
1 28 designated member for a hands-on demonstration."
