1 1 Section 1. Section 384.59, Code 2001, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. In the case of the abatement of
1 4 a nuisance by a city, the city clerk may prepare, sign, and
1 5 file the assessment schedule and other related documents that
1 6 would otherwise be required of the engineer.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This bill allows a city clerk or the engineer retained by a
1 9 city council to prepare, sign, and file the assessment
1 10 schedule and other related documents for abatement of a
1 11 nuisance by a city. Currently, such duties are assigned to
1 12 the engineer.
