1 2 BY (PROPOSED COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS
1 3 RESOLUTION BY CHAIRPERSON MILLAGE)
1 4 A Resolution requesting that the Revenue
1 5 Estimating Conference meet on or before March 7, 2002.
1 6 WHEREAS, the state budgetary process in the General
1 7 Assembly involves setting appropriation targets based upon the
1 8 estimated amount of revenues available to the state; and
1 9 WHEREAS, with the uncertainty of state revenues, it is
1 10 important for the General Assembly to know if the revenue
1 11 estimate for the General Fund of the State to be used in
1 12 setting those appropriation targets is the December 7, 2001,
1 13 estimate or the estimate to be set later during the next
1 14 legislative session; NOW THEREFORE,
1 15 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, That the
1 16 House of Representatives requests the Revenue Estimating
1 17 Conference to meet on or before March 7, 2002, to make revenue
1 18 estimates for the 2001-2002 fiscal year and the 2002-2003
1 19 fiscal year.
