1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 249A.15A PODIATRIC PHYSICIANS
1 2 ELIGIBLE FOR PAYMENT.
1 3 The department shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A
1 4 entitling podiatric physicians, who are licensed in the state
1 5 where the services are provided, to payment for services
1 6 provided to recipients of medical assistance, subject to
1 7 limitations and exclusions the department finds necessary on
1 8 the basis of federal laws and regulations and of funds
1 9 available for the medical assistance program.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill requires the department of human services to
1 12 adopt rules to provide for payment of podiatric physicians who
1 13 provide services to recipients under the medical assistance
1 14 program. The payment is subject to limitations and exclusions
1 15 based on federal law and regulations and funds available for
1 16 the medical assistance program.
