1 6 OSTERHAUS, FALLON, SIEVERS, FOEGE, JOHNSON,
1 7 BODDICKER, MYERS, HUSEMAN, ATTEBERRY, SCHERRMAN,
1 8 FORD, BELL, QUIRK, D. TAYLOR, HATCH, MURPHY,
1 9 and SENG
1 10 A House Resolution honoring Commandant Jack Dack of
1 11 the Iowa Veterans Home upon his retirement.
1 12 WHEREAS, Commandant Jack Dack of the Iowa Veterans
1 13 Home has announced his imminent retirement; and
1 14 WHEREAS, Commandant Dack has served longer in the
1 15 capacity of commandant of the Veterans Home than any
1 16 other commandant; and
1 17 WHEREAS, Mr. Dack started his employment with the
1 18 State of Iowa in 1959 as Director of Activities
1 19 Therapy at the Mental Health Institute at Cherokee;
1 20 and
1 21 WHEREAS, his employment at the Veterans Home began
1 22 in 1968 as Activities Therapy Director; and
1 23 WHEREAS, he was named Commandant just one year
1 24 later in 1969; and
1 25 WHEREAS, considering his military service, his
1 26 service in the United States Veterans Administration,
1 27 and his service at the Iowa Veterans Home, Mr. Dack
1 28 has contributed 54 years of his life to the military
1 29 and to the veterans of the military; NOW THEREFORE,
1 30 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
2 1 That the House of Representatives pay tribute to
2 2 Commandant Jack Dack for his devoted service to the
2 3 Iowa Veterans Home, to the military, and to the State
2 4 of Iowa; and
2 5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the House of
2 6 Representatives extends its appreciation to Commandant
2 7 Dack for his many years of devoted service and wishes
2 8 him the very best in his retirement years; and
2 9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 10 this Resolution be prepared and presented to
2 11 Commandant Dack.
