  1  4 RELATING TO AN INCREASE IN THE RESIDENT HUNTING LICENSE FEE
  1  5    AND ESTABLISHING A PHEASANT AND QUAIL RESTORATION PROGRAM
  1  6    AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1 10    Section 1.  Section 483A.1, subsection 1, paragraph c, Code
  1 11 Supplement 2001, is amended to read as follows:  
  1 12    c.  Hunting license...........................   $ 12.50 17.00
  1 13    Sec. 2.  NEW SECTION.  483A.25  PHEASANT AND QUAIL
  1 14 RESTORATION PROGRAM – APPROPRIATIONS.
  1 15    The revenue received from the resident hunting license fee
  1 16 increase in this Act for each fiscal year of the fiscal period
  1 17 beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2007, is
  1 18 appropriated to the department.  Of the amount appropriated to
  1 19 the department pursuant to this section, at least sixty
  1 20 percent shall be used to fund a pheasant and quail restoration
  1 21 program.  The department shall submit a report annually on the
  1 22 pheasant and quail restoration program to the chairpersons of
  1 23 the house committee on natural resources and the senate
  1 24 committee on natural resources and environment not later than
  1 25 January 1, 2004, and not later than January 1 of each
  1 26 subsequent year.
