  1  1    Section 1.  Rule of civil procedure 1.958, Iowa court
  1  2 rules, fourth edition, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    Rule 1.958  BY AGREEMENT.  Except in actions for
  1  4 dissolution of marriage, separate maintenance and annulment of
  1  5 marriage, the The court may enter judgment based upon the
  1  6 parties' stipulated agreement in any civil action where the
  1  7 parties have mutually assented to the terms of the agreement
  1  8 at the time the agreement is submitted to the court.  The
  1  9 clerk shall forthwith enter any such judgment upon which all
  1 10 parties agree have agreed in open court, or by writing filed
  1 11 with the clerk; and execution may issue forthwith unless
  1 12 otherwise agreed.  
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill amends the rules of civil procedure to allow the
  1 15 district court in any civil action to incorporate the parties'
  1 16 stipulated agreement into the judgment decree where the
  1 17 parties have mutually assented to the terms of the agreement
  1 18 at the time it is submitted to the court.
