1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 321.63A CESSATION OF BUSINESS.
1 2 If a dealer, transporter, new motor vehicle wholesaler
1 3 licensed under chapter 322, or mobile home dealer licensed
1 4 under chapter 322B has an established place of business that
1 5 ceases to do business, the department, upon application by the
1 6 dealer, transporter, new motor vehicle wholesaler, or mobile
1 7 home dealer, shall issue refunds for unexpired multiyear
1 8 registration special plates held by the applicant for that
1 9 location. The refund shall be computed on the basis of the
1 10 number of unexpired months remaining in the registration year
1 11 or years at the time the applicant ceased doing business at
1 12 the location designated in the applicant's certificate of
1 13 registration.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill allows motor vehicle dealers, transporters, new
1 16 motor vehicle wholesalers licensed under Code chapter 322, or
1 17 mobile home dealers licensed under Code chapter 322B who have
1 18 obtained a separate certificate of registration and dealer's,
1 19 transporter's, new motor vehicle wholesaler's, or mobile home
1 20 dealer's special plates for a distinct business location to
1 21 receive a refund of the unexpired portion of the registration
1 22 fee for those plates if the dealer, transporter, new motor
1 23 vehicle wholesaler, or mobile home dealer ceases doing
1 24 business at the location for which the special plates were
1 25 issued.
