1 1 Section 1. Section 18.12, subsection 11, Code 2001, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. Annually on or before September
1 4 15, the director shall provide to each state agency a
1 5 projected amount for the succeeding fiscal year for the rental
1 6 fees payable by the state agency under this subsection and for
1 7 utility costs payable by the state agency to the extent the
1 8 utility costs are not addressed under this subsection as part
1 9 of a rental fee. The state agency shall utilize the projected
1 10 amount provided by the director in the state agency's budget
1 11 estimates for the succeeding fiscal year submitted under
1 12 section 8.23.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill relates to budgeting for state agency rental fees
1 15 and utility costs. The bill amends the duties of the director
1 16 of the department of general services under Code section 18.12
1 17 by requiring the director to annually provide each executive
1 18 branch state agency with a projected amount for the state
1 19 agency's succeeding fiscal year's payable rental fees and
1 20 utility costs. The state agency must use the figure provided
1 21 in the state agency's budget estimates submitted by October 1
1 22 under Code section 8.23.
