  1  4 RELATING TO THE PREPARATION AND FILING OF AN ASSESSMENT
  1  5    SCHEDULE FOR ABATEMENT OF A NUISANCE BY A CITY.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 384.59, Code 2001, is amended by adding
  1 10 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
  1 11    NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  In the case of the abatement of
  1 12 a nuisance by a city, the city clerk may prepare, sign, and
  1 13 file the assessment schedule and other related documents that
  1 14 would otherwise be required of the engineer.
