  1  1    Section 1.  Section 97B.49B, subsection 1, paragraph e,
  1  2 Code 2001, is amended by adding the following new
  1  3 subparagraph:
  1  4    NEW SUBPARAGRAPH.  (8)  An employee of the department of
  1  5 corrections or a judicial district department of correctional
  1  6 services who works at or in a correctional facility.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill provides that a person employed by the department
  1  9 of corrections or a judicial district department of
  1 10 correctional services who works at a correctional facility
  1 11 shall be included, and receive benefits as, a member of a
  1 12 protection occupation within the Iowa public employees'
  1 13 retirement system.
