PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 8.22A, subsection 2, Code Supplement 1 2 2001, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 2. The conference shall meet as often as deemed necessary, 1 4 but shall meet at leastquarterlyfour times each fiscal year. 1 5 One of the meetings shall be held within thirty calendar days 1 6 preceding December 15 for the purpose stated in subsection 3 1 7 and one of the meetings shall be held within thirty calendar 1 8 days preceding March 15. The conference may use sources of 1 9 information deemed appropriate. 1 10 EXPLANATION 1 11 This bill relates to the meetings of the revenue estimating 1 12 conference. 1 13 Under current law in Code section 8.22A, the revenue 1 14 estimating conference shall meet as often as deemed necessary 1 15 but must meet quarterly. The bill revises the quarterly 1 16 meeting requirement to instead require meetings at least four 1 17 times per fiscal year. Under the current law, one of the 1 18 meetings is held by December 15 to agree to a revenue estimate 1 19 for the following year and under the bill another of the 1 20 meetings must be held by March 15. Both of these meetings 1 21 must be held within 30 calendar days preceding the designated 1 22 date. 1 23 LSB 5670HH 79 1 24 jp/cls/14
