  1  1    Section 1.  Section 261.17, subsection 4, paragraph a, Code
  1  2 Supplement 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    a.  The amount of a vocational-technical tuition grant to a
  1  4 qualified full-time student shall not exceed the lesser of six
  1  5 one thousand two hundred fifty dollars per year or the amount
  1  6 of the student's established financial need.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill increases the maximum possible amount of a
  1  9 vocational-technical tuition grant to a qualified full-time
  1 10 student from $650 to $1,200.
