1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 483A.31A RECIPROCAL NONRESIDENT
1 2 HUNTING AND FISHING FEES AND HUNTING SEASONS – SOUTH DAKOTA.
1 3 Notwithstanding section 483A.1, the fees for nonresident
1 4 fishing licenses and nonresident hunting licenses excluding
1 5 deer and wild turkey licenses for applicants who are residents
1 6 of the state of South Dakota shall be the same amount as the
1 7 fees that residents of this state would pay when applying for
1 8 equivalent licenses to hunt or fish in the state of South
1 9 Dakota. In addition, the number of days or length of seasons
1 10 authorized in this state for nonresident hunters, except deer
1 11 or wild turkey hunters, who are residents of South Dakota
1 12 shall be the same number or length as the number of days or
1 13 length of seasons authorized for equivalent hunting licenses
1 14 in the state of South Dakota for licensees who are residents
1 15 of this state.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill provides that, notwithstanding Code section
1 18 483A.1, the fees for nonresident fishing licenses and
1 19 nonresident hunting licenses excluding deer and wild turkey
1 20 licenses for applicants who are residents of the state of
1 21 South Dakota shall be the same amounts as the fees that
1 22 residents of this state would pay when applying for equivalent
1 23 licenses to hunt or fish in the state of South Dakota.
1 24 The bill also provides that the number of days or length of
1 25 seasons authorized in this state for nonresident hunters,
1 26 except deer and wild turkey hunters, who are residents of
1 27 South Dakota, shall be the same number or length as the number
1 28 of days or length of seasons authorized for equivalent hunting
1 29 licenses in the state of South Dakota for licensees who are
1 30 residents of this state.
