  1  1    Section 1.  Section 7E.6, subsection 2, Code 2001, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    2.  Any position of membership on any board, committee,
  1  4 commission, or council in the state government which has a
  1  5 compensation level limited to expenses only is eligible to
  1  6 receive, in addition to such actual expense reimbursement, an
  1  7 additional expense allowance of fifty dollars per day if the
  1  8 holder of any such position applies for such additional
  1  9 expense allowance and the holder of the position has an income
  1 10 level of one hundred fifty percent or less of the United
  1 11 States poverty level as defined by the most recently revised
  1 12 poverty income guidelines published by the United States
  1 13 department of health and human services.  
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill provides that members of state boards,
  1 16 committees, commissions, or councils that have a compensation
  1 17 level limited to expenses only are eligible to apply for and
  1 18 receive an additional expense allowance of $50 per day.
