PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 101.22, subsection 4, Code 2001, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 4. The initial registration notice of the owner or 1 4 operator to the state fire marshal under subsections 1 through 1 5 3 shall be accompanied by a fee of ten dollars for each tank 1 6 included in the notice. All moneys collected shall be 1 7 retained by the department of public safety and are 1 8 appropriated for the use of the state fire marshal.The1 9annual renewal fee applies to all owners or operators who1 10filed a registration notice with the state fire marshal1 11pursuant to subsections 1 through 3.1 12 EXPLANATION 1 13 This bill amends Code section 101.22 relating to 1 14 registration and renewal fees paid to the state fire marshal's 1 15 office within the department of public safety for aboveground 1 16 petroleum storage tanks. 1 17 Currently, an owner or operator of an aboveground petroleum 1 18 storage tank must pay a fee upon registering the tank with the 1 19 state fire marshal's office and pay an annual renewal fee each 1 20 year after the tank is registered.
