  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.457, subsection 2, paragraph d,
  1  2 Code 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  A combination of three vehicles coupled together one of
  1  4 which is a motor vehicle, unladen or with load, other than a
  1  5 truck tractor, shall not have an overall length, inclusive of
  1  6 front and rear bumpers, in excess of sixty seventy feet.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill amends a provision in Code section 321.457
  1  9 relating to the maximum length of vehicles operated on
  1 10 highways in the state to modify the maximum overall length
  1 11 allowed for a combination of three vehicles coupled together,
  1 12 one of which is a motor vehicle other than a truck tractor.
  1 13 The maximum overall length for such a combination is extended
  1 14 from 60 to 70 feet.
