  1  1    Section 1.  Section 256.7, subsection 7, unnumbered
  1  2 paragraph 3, Code 2001, is amended by striking the unnumbered
  1  3 paragraph.  
  1  4                           EXPLANATION
  1  5    This bill strikes a provision directing the state board of
  1  6 education to adopt rules requiring that a licensed teacher
  1  7 supervise the curriculum received via the Iowa communications
  1  8 network for students enrolled in kindergarten through grade
  1  9 12.  However, the bill leaves in place the requirement that
  1 10 curriculum provided via the network be taught by an
  1 11 appropriately licensed teacher.
